BRICS Summit 2026: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday announced that train services across all lines will begin early at 6:00 AM on Sunday, September 13. The decision aims to ensure smooth travel for students appearing for examinations and commuters amid traffic restrictions due to the BRICS Summit.

Why Services Will Start Early This Sunday

While services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey lines typically start at 7:00 AM on Sundays, advancing operations to 6:00 AM across the entire network will particularly assist candidates appearing for the NDA and CDS examinations, allowing them to reach their test centres on time amid traffic restrictions for to the BRICS Summit.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the DMRC said, "To facilitate the smooth and timely movement of students appearing for examinations and the general public amid traffic restrictions due to the BRICS Summit, Metro train services will commence at 6 am on all lines on Sunday."

The announcement came after a CDS candidate reached out to the Delhi Traffic Police regarding the availability of early morning Metro services to reach the examination centre before the reporting time. The traffic police subsequently coordinated with the DMRC to facilitate candidates appearing for the NDA/CDS examinations, confirming that the DMRC had agreed to commence services at 6:00 AM across all lines on the examination day.

Advisory For Passengers

The DMRC has advised students and the general public to plan their journeys in advance in view of traffic restrictions in several parts of the city during the summit.
