Three men from Delhi University allegedly harassed two Hindu College students in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar after one of the students objected to their inappropriate remarks. The accused have been identified as Abhimanyu, Abhinav, and Naman. The situation escalated after one of the men commented on the student's T-shirt.

The incident had taken place on Wednesday evening, when the women were walking at the Vijaynagar Haqiqat Park towards Old Gupta Chowk. Following this, white Tata Safari approached the two women and passed inappropriate comments. The commented said, that one of the accused, told the woman that her T-shirt “looks great". She was wearing a red T-shirt with "Urban Mindset" written on it.

When they objected, the men abused them and started following them, the DU student said in her complaint. As the students stopped to film the incident, the vehicle attempted to pull inside, the complainant mentioned. Following this, the accused individuals fled the scene.

2 Arrested

During interogation, the two accused, Abhimanyu and Abhinav individuals said that they are residents of Bihar and were drunk while driving the vehicle. The two also revealed that Naman was the one, who was hurling abusive comments. Currently, he is on the run.

Woman Narrated Incident On Social Media

Sharing a clip on social media, one of the affected woman said that the incident took place around 9:30 pm on Wednesday when she and her friend were walking near Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi after visiting the Vijaynagar Haqiqat Park. "When we told them not to misbehave and to leave, they began abusing us," she said in the video.

"I have visited three police stations over the past 4 to 5 hours, but they haven't even registered an FIR. My friends and I have been waiting here all night, yet no action has been taken. They don't seem to care that I'm standing here in the middle of the night," she said.

A case was later filed at the Mukherjee Nagar Police Station based on the student's complaint.

Police are also looking into the student's allegation that she and her friend had approached multiple police stations before the complaint was registered.
