A shocking revelation has come to light as Delhi's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) reported that only 250,754 Form 6 applications were received by October 22, following the removal of 4.76 million names from the draft roll released on August 31. Between those dates, the 2.5 lakh applications received included both new voters and individuals seeking re-enrolment after deletion from the electoral roll.

The CEO's office stated that it received 212,400 Form-6 applications even before the draft rolls were released, HT reported. On September 20th, the Election Commission began special camps to reinstate voters. Until October 22, approximately 89,000 camps were held in Delhi, and 158,470 Form-6 applications were received.

Out of 3.3 million cases, only 2.95 were resolved

The 3.3 million voters who were flagged either had no connection with the 2002 Aadhaar voter list, or there were logical discrepancies in their records. Of these, approximately 2.95 million cases have been resolved. These names will remain in the final list, unless someone files an objection to their name by filing Form 7. Any objections will be investigated.

An official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, "We held more than 89,000 special camps, yet the applications are low. This indicates that the ASDD list was prepared following proper procedures. Even among the new applications, about 50 per cent are first-time voters."
