Delhi Traffic Relief: In a major update for the commuters of Delhi, the government is planning to build two flyovers in the southern region to boost the regional connectivity. Apart from this, the travel experience in the north is set to improve with the completion of three underpasses near Mukarba Chowk. The projects are likely to provide relief to the commuters by cutting the travel time and reducing the traffic congestion and distance.
Underpasses To Boost Connectivity
As per the reports, the commuters travelling on the Mukarba Chowk corridor are soon likely to get relief as the underpasses will be inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday. The underpasses will improve travel experience as along with cutting the traffic congestion and travel time, the project will also cut the total distance by nearly one kilometre.
Flyover To Be Extended Till Kalkaji
Apart from this, the authority is also reportedly planning to extend the Modi Mill flyover towards Kalkaji to reduce traffic congestion. A new parallel flyover will also be built at the Savitri Cinema junction to provide an additional travel option to the regional commuters. The projects are expected to reduce traffic congestion in several regions, including Kalkaji, Nehru Place, Greater Kailash and CR Park.
Projects To Be Completed By 2029
While providing details, state PWD Minister Parvesh Verma stated that the projects in South Delhi will be built with a total cost of Rs 371 crore. The reports also suggest that the state government is planning to complete these projects within 24 to 30 months.

The Modi Mill flyover will be extended to Kalkaji and will key intersections around multiple congested regions, such as Captain Gaur Marg, Maa Anand Mai Marg, Lotus Temple Road, Masjid Moth Road and the Nehru Place bus depot. Apart from this, the reports suggest that the second proposed flyover will reduce traffic congestion around CR Park.
