CJP Protest: Security has been intensified across the national capital ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest scheduled for Saturday. Delhi Police has stepped up checking at several locations, with barricades put up on roads and vehicles being stopped for inspection. Security has also been tightened at railway stations and along the Delhi borders.

Delhi Police Intensifies Checking

According to Jagran.com report, Delhi Police has set up checkpoints at several locations across the capital. Vehicles are being stopped and checked before being allowed to enter Delhi. Police personnel are also checking documents and questioning people if they find anything suspicious. Additionally, security has been tightened at the residences of VIPs in New Delhi.

Security Checks At Railway Stations And Trains

Access to roads leading towards the Prime Minister's residence has also been restricted, and vehicles are not allowed to pass through the area. Similarly, security has been stepped up at railway stations, with passengers being questioned and their belongings being checked. Railway police personnel are also conducting inspections inside train coaches and on platforms.

Long-distance trains coming to Delhi from different states are being checked at railway stations in neighbouring states. The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have been directed to conduct joint checks across train coaches. As per reports, passengers suspected of travelling to Delhi to participate in the protest may be detained during these checks.

Trains Delayed By 2 To 4 Hours

Meanwhile, intensified security checks have affected train schedules. According to reports, several trains arriving in Delhi are running two to four hours late. Railway police have been instructed to continue questioning passengers at stations and conduct thorough checks of train coaches and platforms. Similar checks are being carried out on buses travelling towards Delhi from nearby states.

Vehicle Checking At Borders

Vehicles are being stopped and inspected at border checkpoints. At the Ghazipur border in east Delhi, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and police officers are checking vehicles before allowing them to enter Delhi. IPS officer Gaurav Tripathi was also seen supervising vehicle checks at the Apsara border.

Traffic congestion has been reported on roads leading from ITO towards India Gate and Mandi House due to barricades and security restrictions. The road connecting New Delhi Railway Station to Connaught Place has also been closed. Meanwhile, mobile internet services have been temporarily suspended within a four-kilometre radius of the Janpath-Kartavya Path crossing in central Delhi until 10 pm on October 10.
