The Delhi Police on Saturday detained Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke and others at the Indira Gandhi International Airport ahead of the protest at Jantar Mantar. Sharing the incident on social media from the party’s handle, Dipke said, "He is not afraid.” "You could have waited till we came out. Come arrest us, we are not afraid," Dipke was seen telling the women cops who boarded the plane. The post also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The CJP founder called the detention “dictatorship”. He said that “Even Indira Gandhi did not do this.” Addressing the passengers, Dipke said, “You can see where the nation is leading to.” Dipke had earlier in the morning left Mumbai for Delhi to lead protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar.

The CJP, in a statement, condemned the "authoritarian detention" of its Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka straight from their flight upon landing in Delhi.
"This pre-planned interception by the Delhi Police aims to cripple the leadership of today's peaceful demonstrations before they even reach the protest site. The CJP denounces this blatant violation of freedom of movement and demands the immediate, unconditional release of Dipke, Saurav Das, and Aushutosh Ranka," the CJP said earlier.
Dhruv Rathee Detained
During the early hours of Saturday, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and CJP legal cell head Ratna Singh were also detained at their homes to stop them from joining the police. Around 400 suspected protesters were detained from different parts of Delhi overnight by the cops.
Amid the demonstrations, major markets in Delhi are closed, the authorities have shut the entry and exits of 45 metro stations, and traffic diversions will be imposed on at least 30 points in the capital.
