A stone pelting incident was reported on Train No. 12290 Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express on Friday night, resulting in cracks in the window glass of three coaches. The incident occured as the train passed Borkhedi Station in Maharashtra.

At around 8.27 pm, some unidentified person the window glass of coaches A-1, B-2 and B-5 was damaged after an object or stone struck them from outside. No passenger sustained any injury or reported any loss.

RPF Conduct Search Op

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) were informed about the incident at around 8:46 pm. Following the information, RPF and GRP personnel conducted a search in the Borkhedi-Sindhi section between kilometre 803 and kilometre 796.

The nearby areas of Borkhedi and Brahmani villages were also checked. The Police Patil and residents were questioned during the enquiry. However, no suspicious person or concrete evidence was found. Escort staff and passengers confirmed that an object or stone had hit the windows from outside.

Further investigation is underway to determine the exact location of the incident. A case has been registered under Section 153 of the Railway Act against an unknown person in connection with the incident.
