Gujarat: A 14-year-old girl in Gujarat's Kutch district has accused her father of repeatedly raping her and confining her at home. She further alleged that her mother took nude photographs of her during the sexual assault.
Based on the minor's statement, police have registered a case against the couple under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other relevant sections.
The incident was reported from the Anjar area in Kutch district, where the teenager resides with her parents and three sisters. The family, originally from another state, has been living in Gujarat for around six years, India Today reported.
A Phone Call With Male Friend
The girl told police that the ordeal began on September 14, when her mother caught her speaking on the phone with a male friend from Agra and questioned her. When the father returned home from work, the mother informed him about the conversation, claiming the teenager was in a relationship with the boy.
The father reportedly lost his temper, physically assaulted the girl, and locked her inside the house, denying her food and water for several hours.
Allegations Of Sexual Assault, Confinement
The girl alleged the abuse escalated over the following days and that her father sexually assaulted her at home several times. She claimed her mother was present during the assaults and took nude photographs of her.
According to her complaint, the alleged abuse continued on September 20 and again on September 29, during which she was repeatedly confined to the home.
Escape To Relative's House Leads To Police Action
On September 29, the victim managed to escape to her aunt's house within the same residential complex and used her aunt's phone to dial the 112 emergency helpline.
Although her parents tracked her down, seized the phone, and forced her to return home, the emergency call successfully alerted authorities, leading to police intervention and the registration of a case.
