Three people have been arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male friend in Haryana's Faridabad. The accused, identified as Kunal, Yash and Deepak, have been remanded to four days of police custody by a court. The police have also said that while three accused have been arrested, the number of people involved is suspected to be higher, and other suspects are yet to be taken into custody.
What Happened On That Day
The incident allegedly took place on August 24, when the minor called her friend after finishing her tuition classes. The two went into a dilapidated building. Shortly after, six youths allegedly followed them inside and sexually assaulted the girl after threatening both minors.
It is alleged that one of the accused first threatened the student and her friend and demanded money, but they denied having any. Two men then stood at the bottom of the building, while four others took the student and her friend to the third floor. One of them had stood at the door, while the remaining three gang-raped the student.
The accused then had unnatural sex with the student's friend as well. After threatening them, he forcefully brought them downstairs, gave them the keys to the scooter, and told them to go straight home. He also threatened them not to tell anyone about the incident.
A police official said both children had kept the incident hidden from their parents for a month. When the girl began showing signs of severe mental distress, her mother spoke to her, following which the girl revealed the incident. The family then approached the police.
Investigations Underway
The case is being investigated by the BPTP police station in Faridabad. Investigators are examining all aspects of the incident and are expected to question the arrested men further during their remand.
