Weather Update: Following landfall in Andhra Pradesh, the remnants of Cyclone Arnab continue to move inland, triggering widespread rainfall across several parts of the country. At the same time, a new low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal and a Western Disturbance are combining with the storm's remnants. This interaction is set to increase rainfall across northern and eastern states, including Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana.
As rain decreases over the next two to three days, temperatures across North India are forecast to drop significantly, marking the onset of winter.
Heavy Rain in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the current storm activity is driving heavy rain across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha. As the weather systems shift northward, isolated parts of Bihar are expected to see very heavy rainfall, while Eastern Uttar Pradesh will receive heavy downpours for two consecutive days.
Skymet Weather has forecast light to moderate rain and thunderstorms in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Eastern Rajasthan, and several districts in Madhya Pradesh.
Snowfall And Hail Risk In Hilly States
Uttarakhand is bracing for heavy to very heavy rainfall, alongside a general deterioration in weather conditions across mountainous areas. High-altitude regions are likely to face fresh snowfall, while hailstorms in parts of the hilly states will pose potential risks to standing crops.

Temperatures To Drop Marking Onset Of Winter
Moisture from a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is preventing Cyclone Arnab's remnants from dissipating rapidly. This will maintain continued rain activity across Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Once these spells clear over the next 48 to 72 hours, temperatures across North India are forecast to drop significantly, marking the onset of winter.
