Jagran Correspondent, Jamui | Bihar's Jamui has been in the news for a wrong reason. Recently, a minor girl was molested by a group of men. Video of the incident created a huge public outrage. Now, the same Jamui displayed a heartening picture of the society in which the birth of a baby girl was celebrated like a big festival. A family of Gangra village under Gidhaur block of Jamui district has set a wonderful and inspiring example by breaking the conservative thinking against the girls.

Mega Welcome Procession For Baby Girl

A man, along with his father, organised a mega celebrations over the arrival of his newborn daughter. Amit Kumar Singh's wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl at Jamui Sadar Hospital on September 15. As soon as the daughter's first cry echoed through the courtyard of the house, a festive atmosphere descended upon the entire family. The newborn's father, Amit Kumar Singh, and grandfather, Dilip Singh, resolved to make their little angel's homecoming a lifelong memory.

DJ And Convoy Of 10 Vehicles

The grand welcome procession on September 23 left everyone astonished. The father and grandfather arrived at Jamui Sadar Hospital in a full-fledged wedding-style procession to take the newborn girl home. A convoy of nearly 10 decorated four-wheelers, complete with a DJ, rolled in with vehicles adorned with colourful balloons and flowers.

Location: Gangra Village, Block- Gidhaur (Jamui District).

Place and date of birth: Jamui Sadar Hospital, September 15.

Date: Late evening of September 23.

When the family arrived at the main gate of Sadar Hospital via Gidhaur Bazaar, accompanied by the DJ and a decorated convoy of vehicles, passersby standing on the roadside and those inside the hospital remained awe-struck. After being formally discharged from the hospital, the family took the girl in their arms and brought her home to their village home amidst the dancing and singing atmosphere.

The family has lovingly named the newborn girl "Aarohi." Sharing their joy, the father and grandfather said the goddess of wealth and prosperity, Lakshmi, has been born. In today's age, daughters are no less than sons in any field; rather, they are enhancing the prestige of society and family, they added.
