State Bureau, Ranchi: In a major development, the Jharkhand High Court has stayed the state government's decision cancelling appointments under JSSC-CGL. The bench of Justice Deepak Roshan stayed the cancellation while hearing three separate petitions.
The court was hearing the petitions of Shalini Sundi and others, Rozlyn Shweta Tikka and others and Rishikesh Sajjan and others demanding to set aside the government's notification. It stayed implementation and compliance of the notification issued on August 18 till further orders.
High Court seeks Jharkhand government's response
The High Court has also sought a response from the government. It directed that the employees affected by the notification be allowed to continue working for the time being.
The Advocate General has been directed to instruct the relevant department to allow the petitioners, as well as other similarly situated employees affected by the notification, to continue working.
Petitioners to file affidavit
Advocates Amritansh Vats, Arpan Ekka, and Kumar Abhishek appeared on behalf of the petitioners. The High Court directed all petitioners to file an affidavit acknowledging that the final order passed by the trial court in the relevant criminal cases will be binding on them.
Based on the trial court's order, the state government will take appropriate action in accordance with the law. The court has listed the case for the next hearing on September 15.
JPSC-CDPO appointees to continue work
Meanwhile, Justice Deepak Roshan's court has stayed the government's order cancelling the CDPO appointments.
The court ordered the government to present the CID investigation and the findings to the court. The next hearing in the case will be held on September 15. A petition has been filed in the High Court on behalf of applicant Radhika Kumar in this regard.
