Maharashtra Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Maharashtra are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday. The weather department, while providing details, stated that along with the rain activities, the ghat regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
Heavy Rain Likely In Several Regions
As per the advisory, light rain is expected in several districts, including Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Ratnagiri and Raigad. Apart from this, other regions such as Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahilyanagar and Nashik are also set to experience similar weather conditions. The weather department has stated that the Nashik ghat regions are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall in the coming days.
The IMD stated that light rainfall is also likely in Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur districts. While the ghat areas of Pune and Satara are likely to receive moderate rainfall in the coming days, the Kolhapur ghat areas are expected to witness light rainfall. Apart from this, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed and Dharashiv districts are also likely to witness light rainfall on Wednesday.

Rain Could Cause Waterlogging
The continuous rainfall is likely to cause waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the local residents. The commuters have been advised to stay updated, plan their days accordingly and maximise the use of public transportation to avoid the rush.
However, the weather department has clarified that dry conditions will continue in the other regions such as Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani and Latur districts. Apart from this, other regions, including Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Wardha, Washim, Yavatmal, Gadchiroli and Gondia districts will witness similar weather conditions.
Along with Maharashtra, several other states such as Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal are also likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall at least till September 20.
