Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Telangana are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall over the next five days. While providing details, the weather department stated that along with heavy rainfall, the northern districts are likely to experience gusty winds and thunderstorms. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to ensure safety.

Rain Likely In These Districts

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Mulugu, Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Khammam are set to witness very heavy rainfall in the coming days. It further stated that the intensity is likely to increase on September 19, 20 and 21, adding that the continuous rainfall will lower the temperature. However, it could also lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, causing inconveniences to the commuters.

What Officials Said?

Along with these regions, gusty winds and thunderstorms are also likely in the other parts of the state. The officials stated that the trough formed from Karnataka to the southwest Bay of Bengal has extended across Tamil Nadu to the Gulf of Mannar. The latest system is the reason behind rainfall in the southern states lately, the officials added.

The concerned district administrations have been directed to take necessary steps to ensure safety for the residents. The weather department has stated that several parts of Andhra Pradesh are also likely to experience similar weather conditions over the next two days. The weather has changed due to the influence of a surface circulation and a trough, the IMD added.

The weather department has advised the fishermen and the farmers to stay updated and limit their financial activities during the rain to avoid inconveniences. The coastal regions of other states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are also likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall at least September 20.
