Noida International Airport

The Noida International Airport, soon to be renamed as Narendra Modi International Airport, was inaugurated in March this year after procuring an aerodrome licence from the DGCA.

The commercial flight operations began on June 15, with an IndiGo flight from Lucknow becoming the first arrival at the airport. The first passenger departure left for Bengaluru and Lucknow, carrying local farmers who had given up their land for the airport project.

The airport currently has one runway and one passenger terminal with a capacity of 12 million passengers annually. Capacity is expected to rise to 30 million annually after the inauguration of the second phase of the Noida airport.
