Jagran Correspondent, Noida: In a major relief for Delhi-NCR commuters, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Sunday extended its Aqua Line operating hours until 11:25 PM and increased peak-hour train frequency to every six minutes on weekdays. The decision comes in response to rapidly growing passenger traffic and long-standing public demand for reliable late-night transit options.

Big Relief For Late-Night Commuters

Under the earlier schedule, Aqua Line operations ran from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, causing widespread inconvenience to late-shift professionals and students travelling from Delhi and neighbouring NCR hubs.

Passengers interchanging from the Delhi Metro's Blue Line at Sector 52 frequently missed the last Sector 51 Aqua Line train, forcing them to rely on costly private transport. The extended operating hours will directly eliminate this bottleneck, ensuring seamless, affordable travel for late-shift workers and travellers.

Revised Timetable

The NMRC has introduced four additional services after 10:00 PM, with trains now departing Sector 51 and Greater Noida Depot at 10:20 PM, 10:40 PM, 11:00 PM, and 11:25 PM.

  • Weekdays (Monday-Friday): Peak-hour train intervals reduced to 6 minutes.
  • Saturdays: Trains to run at 10-minute intervals throughout the day.
  • Sundays: Services to operate at 15-minute intervals.

Daily Ridership Crosses 100,000 Milestone

The 21-station corridor stretching from Sector 51 to Greater Noida Depot has crossed a milestone of 100,000 daily passengers. To support this surge, NMRC currently operates 13 trains daily, with one additional train on standby.
