Aparna, a former IT professional from Bengaluru, decided to do just that. She left her corporate job and became a Rapido auto driver, a profession still largely seen as a man's job. Aparna's story recently came into the spotlight after digital creator Tanvi shared a video of her conversation with Aparna on Instagram. The video introduced many people online to her journey, from working in the IT sector to driving an auto for a living.

Family Opposed, Yet She Prioritised Her Circumstances
In the video, Aparna said that following her father's demise, it was getting hard for her to manage late-night shifts while also being present for her mother. Eventually, she decided to leave her high-paying IT job and take up driving, a profession that allows her to stay close to home.
Aparna further underlined that the decision was not easy. Initially, the family opposed her decision to pursue such an unconventional career despite having an IT background. However, she chose to prioritise her circumstances and what suits her family over people's opinions.

While sharing the video of the woman, Tanvi wrote, "But what will people say?"
"She chose not to care. She chose freedom. She chose independence. She chose to take charge of her own life. A woman stepping into a male-dominated space, doing an honest job, taking responsibility and choosing what works for her life — without worrying about what society might say," Tanvi wrote while praising Aparna.
She further said that bravery is not about doing something extraordinary; sometimes it's about the courage to choose what works for you. Stepping behind the handlebars to care for her mother on her own terms, Aparna is reminding us that the most radical thing a woman can do is take full control of her own steering wheel.
