Bollywood star Aamir Khan was the prime target of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang's shooters before they decided to hit Tiger Shroff on October 18 at Mumbai's Juhu. The shooters reportedly shifted their focus to Shroff after finding it difficult to approach Aamir.
According to a report by The Indian Express, the shooters stayed in Mumbai for about a month and visited three times the area where Aamir lives. During the recee, they found Aamir a difficult target because he either remained out for shooting or inside the house for days without stepping outside.
Earlier reports suggested that Salman was also the target for the shooters but his security made it almost impossible for them to reach near him. The investigation into the case is still underway as fresh details continue to arrive.
The police sources cited in the report said that the motive behind the plan to target Aamir remains unknown yet it may be 'in line with' threats he received in July this year over his wedding with Gauri Spratt.
Aamir was threatened in a screenshot circulated over social media with a name, Aarzoo Bishnoi, the alleged member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In the screenshot and an audio clip, the person allegedly objected to his marriage with Spratt claiming it to be against Sanatan Dharma and the nation.
The report further claimed that the shooters dropped the plan to attack Aamir towards the end of September and confirmed Tiger as the next hit by the first week of October.
They then conducted recee and collected details of his regular movement before choosing Pushpa Narsee Park in Juhu as the crime site. So far, the names of Salman, Aamir and Ranbir have surfaced to have been on the gang's radar.

In another update related to the case, the police told news agency PTI that the three alleged shooters continued to remain active on the encrypted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) chat app while they were on the run. They allegedly received help to change their escape routes as new details about them emerged during the investigation.
At one instance when television channels aired visuals, one primary suspect allegedly received message asking them to escape as their faces were caught on the camera.
"Tumhare chehre aa gaye hain, nikal jao waha se (Your faces are out, get out of there)," police sources told PTI.
