Kainchi Dham Traffic Advisory: Ahead of the long weekend, Uttarakhand Police have issued a comprehensive traffic and route diversion plan to manage the heavy tourist influx and prevent major traffic jams in the Kainchi Dham, Bhowali, and Bhimtal regions.
Travellers planning to visit Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteshwar or Kainchi Dham from October 2 to 4 are advised to review the diversion plan below before starting their journey. These special arrangements will remain in force until the night of October 4.
Key Traffic Diversions & Parking Arrangements
- Private vehicles of devotees arriving from outer districts via the Bhimtal route will be parked at the Bhimtal Vikas Bhavan parking lot. From there, visitors can travel to Kainchi Dham for darshan via Bhowali using local shuttle services or public transport. The same arrangement applies for the return journey.
- To ease congestion in Kainchi Dham and Bhowali, heavy vehicles travelling from Almora and Ranikhet toward Haldwani will be diverted via Quarab and Khairna and routed through Ramgarh and Mukteshwar if necessary.
- Devotees travelling via the Gethia-Nainital route must park their vehicles at the Bhowali Sanatorium parking lot, from where shuttle services will transport them to and from the Kainchi Dham temple.
- Four-wheelers heading past Bhowali may be diverted via the Ramgarh and Khutani motor roads.
