Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states are set to witness light to heavy rainfall on Friday. Along with rainfall, the coastal parts of the southern and western states are also likely to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. The hilly states and the central regions are also expected to witness occasional rainfall, the weather department added.

Rain Likely In These States

While providing details, the weather department stated that rain activities is likely in multiple states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Assam, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Keralam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Telangana, Meghalaya and Tripura.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update

As per the weather advisory, parts of Delhi and its nearby cities, including Noida and Gurugram are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. Apart from this, winds are expected to blow at speeds of 25 to 30 kilometers per hour in certain regions. The maximum temperature is expected to be calculated at 34 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 22 degrees Celsius.

Will It Rain In Hilly States?

The weather department stated that the hilly states, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir are likely to witness fresh rainfall on Friday. The tourists have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

Heavy Rain Alert For Southern States

The IMD has stated that heavy rainfall is likely in the southern states, such as Keralam, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The weather department has issued an orange alert in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts of Keralam.

"Isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) are likely over Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during October 1-2, with gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph) likely over Kerala and Mahe on October 3," the IMD said.
