Odisha Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Odisha are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall. As per the weather department, the coastal regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds along with rain. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rain to avoid any inconveniences.
Rain Likely In These Districts
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack are set to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. Along with the rain activities, these districts are also set to witness thunderstorms and lightning throughout the day.
As per the advisory, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of northern and coastal Odisha. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the humidity, but it will also cause waterlogging in the lower regions. The waterlogging is likely to affect the vehicular movement in these districts. The authority has advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
Check Forecast For Coastal Regions
While the rainfall is likely to continue till Friday, the weather condition is likely to change significantly in the coming days. The weather department stated that the eastern state is not likely to witness any rain between October 3 and 6. It stated that while the coastal regions might witness occasional rain, the large parts of the state will remain dry in the coming days.
The fishermen of the coastal regions have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities to ensure safety. Along with Odisha, light to heavy rainfall is also likely in the central and western states, including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.
The weather department has also stated that parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Keralam are also set to experience similar weather conditions.
