Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri says, "... It's also odd that funerals of civilians are being carried out by coffins wrapped in their national flag, and state honours are being awarded... Yesterday Pakistan launched a targeted attack on the Sikh community of J&K- hitting a gurdwara in Poonch and hitting the Sikh community members, who came under attack, and three individuals were killed in the attacks... A total of 16 civilians have been killed in Poonch and several others have been injured."

I don't need to remind where Osama Bin Laden was found and who called him a martyr. Pakistan is also home to a large number of UN proscribed terrorists and also to terrorists proscribed by many countries. You must have seen in the last few days, their Defence minister and former foreign minister accepted their country's involvement with such terror groups."

This is after TRF claimed the responsibility of the attack not once, but twice... Col Qureshi and Wing Commander Singh clearly said yesterday as well as today, that India's response is non-escalatory, precise, and measured. Our intention is not to escalate matters and we are only responding to the escalation. No military targets have been targeted; only terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan has been hit."

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi says, "This morning, the Indian Armed Forces targeted Air Defence Radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan. Indian response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan. It has been reliably learnt that an Air Defence system at Lahore has been neutralised..."

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh says, "Pakistan has increased the intensity of its unprovoked firing across the Line of Control using Mortars and heavy calibre Artillery in areas in Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. 16 innocent lives have been lost, including three women and five children, due to Pakistani firing. India was compelled to respond to bring Mortar and Artillery fire from Pakistan to a halt. Indian Armed Forces reiterate their commitment to non-escalation, provided it is respected by the Pakistani military."

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi says, "During the press briefing on operation Sindoor on 07 May 2025, India had called its response as focused, measured and non-escalatory. It was specifically mentioned that Pakistani military establishments had not been targeted. It was also reiterated that any attack on military targets in India will invite a suitable response. On the night of 07-08 May 2025, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Northern and Western India including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj, using drones and missiles. These were neutralised by the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks."

Mehbooba Mufti called on the leadership of India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue to resolve escalating tensions. In a tweet, Mufti specifically appealed to the Prime Minister of India, urging the nation to “choose dialogue to end hostilities.”

Mufti emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and engagement, stating, “Now, more than ever, peaceful co existence & engagement must serve as our only instrument.” She said that only through “sincere and sustained efforts” can tensions be de-escalated and the path to peace be restored.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that Operation Sindoor is still underway. “Political parties are the voice of the people and the leaders speaking in one voice. I think it is also one of our successes… It is not good to tell about the continuation of things that are going on after the first strike of #OperationSindoor, and hence, officials were not called in the meeting,” he said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told all-party meeting that at least 100 terrorists were killed in Indian strikes under Opperation Sindoor, news agency PTI reported, quoting Sources.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, “In the meeting, we heard what they (Centre) had to say. They also said that certain confidential information cannot be shared outside. We told them that we all are with the government."

After the all-party meeting, Congress MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi said, "We have extended our full support to the government. As Mallikarjun Kharge ji said, they (the government) said that there are a few things that we don't want to discuss."

PM Modi met Union Secretary Govind Mohan today over shifting of civilians living near the border to safer places as Pakistan continued unprovoked firing along the LoC. 13 civilians lost their lives in Poonch, 59 were injured (44 in Poonch) in ceasefire violations along the LoC by Pakistan, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.

"It was very necessary because of the unfortunate incident that happened in Pahalgam, in which we lost our people. After that, everyone is speaking in unison, and I believe it should be addressed collectively,"  RJD MP Manoj Jha told PTI.

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Israel has updated the existing travel advisory for its nationals urging those in the Kashmir region to “leave immediately”. The Israeli Foreign Ministry called on Israelis to avoid visiting the Jammu and Kashmir region, with the exception of Ladakh, as per PTI.
