Pahalgam Terror Attack Live Updates: Tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, in which 26 civilians were killed by the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on April 22. In the latest development, the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met PM Modi at the latter's residence to discuss the situation. The meeting lasted for over 40 minutes. The meeting came a day after Singh met Chief of General Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, where key decisions taken by the military were discussed.
Meanwhile, the deadline for Pakistani nationals holding short-term visas to leave India ended on Sunday. The Indian government has revoked all categories of visas issued to Pakistani citizens, except long-term, diplomatic, and official visas.Arun Pal, a protocol officer at the Attari Border, informed that a total of 537 Pakistani nationals have left India through the Attari border over the past three days.850 Indian Nationals have returned to India in the past three days. On Sunday alone, 237 Pakistani nationals returned to their country, while 116 Indian nationals came back. According to the government, anyone who stays beyond the deadline will be prosecuted and sent to jail for 3 years or fined Rs 3 lakh or both.
