Jammu And Kashmir Encounter: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said a Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist has been killed by police in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in the general area of Billawar, Kathua district. Advanced M4 Rifle and other ammunition have been recovered from his possession. The elimination of the terrorist came just days ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
What Police Said On The Success
"A Pakistani Jaish terrorist has been neutralised by a small JKP team in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in the general area of Billawar, Kathua district," said IGP Jammu in an X post.

The Indian Army said it acted on specific intelligence inputs and launched a joint operation with police on Saturday in the general area of Parhetar, leading to the killing of the foreign terrorist.
Indian Army's Rising Star Corps_IA (@RisingStarCorps) also shared an X post, saying, "Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Joint Operation was launched by Army and Police on 23 Jan 26 in general area Parhetar, #Kathua. Area was Cordoned and contact established. In a precise strike by the joint forces, 1 Foreign Terrorist has been eliminated. Search operations are continuing."
Three Terrorist Hideouts Busted In Kathua
The killing of the terrorist comes days after the security forces busted three terrorist hideouts in Kathua district. Officials on January 16 said the hideouts were busted as part of anti-terror operations in Billawar, during which two encounters took place with terrorists, who, however, managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Acting on reliable intelligence regarding the movement of anti-national elements in the forest areas of Kamaad Nallah, Kalaban and Dhanu Parole in Billawar, joint teams of security forces launched a massive search operation to neutralise the terrorists, police officials said.
During the operation, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the security forces, resulting in an exchange of fire that continued throughout the night, they said. During the search operation, one terrorist hideout was detected, from which the following items were recovered: two M4 empty cartridges, a plastic box containing desi ghee, a polythene packet containing almonds, hand gloves, a cap, a blanket, a tarpaulin sheet, a small pouch and a polythene bag, they said.
In continuation of the ongoing search operation on January 15, two more terrorist hideouts were busted by the joint teams in the Kalikhad and Kalaban areas of Billawar.
From the hideouts, security forces recovered a cooking gas cylinder, cooking oil, charger wire, hand gloves, utensils, an empty oil gallon, large plastic bags, a torch, blankets, a container, wrappers of eatables and other miscellaneous items, they said. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kathua, Mohita Sharma said the search operation is still underway.
