PM-KISAN Update: Installments of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme for thousands of farmers in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur district are stalled due to data discrepancies.
To address this, Deputy Director of Agriculture Girish Chandra has appealed to the affected beneficiaries, urging them to complete their record verification as soon as possible and reclaim the financial assistance provided under the scheme.
Three Major Irregularities Identified
According to a report by Jagran.com, three major discrepancies have been identified that have led to the suspension of PM-Kisan instalments for a significant number of beneficiaries.
- The first issue involves 5,347 farmers who acquired land through non-inheritance means but failed to record the transfer details accurately.
- The second category includes 5,458 cases where both the former and current landowners were claiming benefits under the PM-Kisan scheme using the same land records.
- The third category includes 26,349 cases where the previous owner's information was not entered at the time of the registration process.
These errors have left thousands of farmers deprived of their scheduled instalments.
Here's How To Fix It?
The Agriculture Department has clarified that farmers affected by these data discrepancies must take immediate action to reclaim the benefits of the scheme.
- Affected farmers are advised to visit their nearest Public Service Centre (CSC) and update their records with the required documents, including land records, Aadhaar, and other necessary documents.
According to the agriculture department, timely record verification is necessary for farmers to receive benefits and ensure future payments continue without interruption. Farmers have been advised not to delay this process and to complete the corrections as soon as possible.
