Indian Railways New Train Announcement: In a move to strengthen rail connectivity in Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday flagged off five new trains, including two Amrit Bharat Express, as part of his official visit to the poll-bound state.
The introduction of these services is expected to strengthen rail connectivity across Tamil Nadu and improve links with neighbouring states such as Kerala and Karnataka. The new services are also likely to support economic activity and ease travel for thousands of passengers in the region.

Two New Trains To Mangalore: Check Route, Stops, Key Details
Among the newly introduced services is the Tirunelveli-Mangaluru Express, which will improve rail connectivity between the southern parts of Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka. The train will stop at key stations such as Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Palani, Pollachi, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod before reaching Mangalore.
The train is expected to ease travel for passengers commuting between Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka for employment, education and tourism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also flagged off another key service to Mangalore. The Rameswaram-Mangalore Express is expected to strengthen connectivity between the temple town of Rameswaram and the port city of Mangaluru, offering a convenient travel option for pilgrims, tourists and residents across the region.
Tamil Nadu Gets Two New Amrit Bharat Trains: Check Details
PM Modi also launched two new Amrit Bharat trains as part of efforts to modernise rail services across the poll-bound state. The first service is the Nagercoil-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat train, while the second is the Bothanur-Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express.
These trains are aimed at improving passenger amenities, reflecting Indian Railways' focus on modernisation and enhanced services.

Passenger Services To Boost Regional Travel
In addition to the express services, PM Modi flagged off a Mayiladuthurai-Karaikudi passenger train to boost local connectivity. The train will run between Mayiladuthurai and Karaikudi, benefiting districts such as Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai and Sivaganga.
Another passenger train between Pollachi and Palakkad will improve cross-border connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala, providing a convenient travel option for daily commuters, students and traders.
