In a tragic incident in Pune, a 20-year-old man died by suicide after consuming rat poison, allegedly after facing harassment and mental torture from his wife and in-laws. Before taking this extreme step, he recorded a video of himself detailing the ordeal he faced and sent it to a friend.
Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against seven individuals, including the wife, NDTV reported.
What Led The 20-Year-Old Man To Take This Extreme Step?
The man identified as Mohammed Saad Asif Sayyad (20), originally from Malegaon in Nashik district, was residing in the Jambhulwadi area of Pune. According to officials, Saad had a dispute with his wife, Karimunnisha aka Nisha Khan, and alleged that she and his in-laws subjected him to constant harassment.
Driven to the edge by constant harassment and mental torture, Saad allegedly died by suicide after consuming rat poison. Before taking this extreme step, he recorded a video on his phone detailing the harassment he faced and named seven individuals, including his wife.
Saad sent the video to a friend in Malegaon and then died by suicide after consuming rat poison. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter and registered a case of abetment to suicide against seven individuals, including Nisha.

"A case of abetment to suicide was registered on Friday. The accused who have been named in the FIR are Nisha, Sarwar alias Kaif Khan, Reshma Kamrukhan, Shama Javed Sheikh, Javed Sheikh, Atharva Kale, and Ishita. Sayyad's mobile phone has been seized to facilitate a forensic examination of the video," NDTV quoted an official as saying.
