Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann along with his 90 Punjab Assembly MLAs is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi on Tuesday. They are challenging the Rajya Sabha MPs who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The MLA convoy, consisting of three luxury buses, left for Delhi early in the morning. The convoy also consists of Mann’s Z-plus security. As a protest against MPs who left the party, legislators carried placards that read "Punjab’s traitors". The placards also consisted of photographs of the 7 Rajya Sabha MPs who exited the party, reported an Indian Express report.

With 94 MLAs in the 117-seat Punjab Assembly, AAP has carefully framed the CM's upcoming meeting with the President as more than a routine engagement, positioning it as both a demonstration of political strength and an effort to reinforce unity within the party. As part of this plan, all party MLAs have been instructed to travel together to Delhi.

This move comes at a crucial time as the party seeks to dispel any narrative of instability following the recent defection of seven Rajya Sabha MPs to the BJP. By mobilising as a group, AAP is trying to convey a single message.

Mann is carrying a copy of the confidence motion passed in the Punjab Assembly on May 1. He has criticised what he described as "opportunistic" politicians who switch parties for personal growth, calling such actions unacceptable.
