Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday met his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal in Tihar jail and said the AAP supremo asked him to actively campaign for INDIA bloc candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to media persons, Mann said Kejriwal's health is fine, noting that he is receiving necessary medical care, including insulin and regular check-ups.

In their interaction, the AAP chief asked people not to worry about him and to exercise their franchise during the elections, he said. "We were separated by an iron mesh. This could be the height of their hatred. Arvind Kejriwal has asked me to tell people not to worry about him and vote. Please vote to save democracy," Punjab CM said as quoted by news agency PTI.

Their discussion also extended beyond political strategies, touching upon personal matters and regional developments. Mann shared updates on his family, including the recent birth of his daughter, and provided insights into the progress of Punjab's education system. He informed Kejriwal about the remarkable achievement of 158 students from Punjab government schools clearing the JEE (Mains) examination, signalling a transformative shift in the state's educational landscape.

"His health is fine and he is also getting Insulin. He asked me about wheat produce in Punjab and the status of electricity-power supply in the state. He was very happy to hear that 158 students from Punjab govt schools have cleared the JEE Mains exam. About my recent visit to Gujarat, I told him that there was a mind-blowing response for AAP. All our leaders will campaign for the party," Mann told media persons.

Kejriwal has been lodged in Tihar jail under judicial custody in an excise policy-linked money-laundering case since April 1. He was arrested on March 21 by ED. Earlier on Monday, his wife Sunita and Delhi Minister Atishi met him.
