Raaj Kumar Anand, former Delhi Minister who resigned from the AAP citing ‘corruption’ within the party, has sent a fresh resignation letter to Arvind Kejriwal, urging the latter to accept it. Anand said earlier when he had sent the letter, he was told that the Delhi CM was in jail and couldn’t sign any file. Hence, he has sent a new letter as Kejriwal is out of jail on a brief parole.

“Earlier, I was told that the CM is in jail, and so he cannot sign any file. Now I have written to him again, and my team member visited his residence to submit the letter. They got the letter but did not say anything. The fresh one was sent on Sunday,” The Indian Express reported quoting Anand.

Anand said he met the governor in this regard as Kejriwal was out on bail for the last four days but his resignation was yet to be accepted.

Anand, last month, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party over the issue of ‘corruption’. Following his resignation, he said that he didn't want to be a part of any party that held him back from representing Dalits. He also stated that he joined politics because of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The minister cited corruption as a reason to leave the party, adding that he doesn't want his name to be dragged into corruption.

Later, Anand joined the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and was fielded from the New Delhi parliamentary constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
