State Bureau, New Delhi: Amid a significant surge in passengers due to the summer holidays, the railways have decided to extend the duration of several special trains. The decision was taken after the existing services witnessed a heavy crowd, leading to the inconveniences. The decision is likely to benefit thousands of passengers of several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. The railway has advised the passengers to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly.

Ranchi-Anand Vihar Weekly: New Schedule 

The Ranchi-Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly Special (02877), which was scheduled to operate till June 27, will now run at least till July 25. It departs from Ranchi every Sunday and provides relief to the passengers of several nearby districts of Jharkhand. The Anand Vihar Terminal-Ranchi Weekly Special (02878), similarly, will now run until July 26 instead of June 28.

Apart from this, the Okha-Shakurbasti Weekly Special (09523), which runs on Tuesdays, has been extended till July 28 instead of June 30. The Shakurbasti-Okha Weekly Special (09524), which was announced to run every Wednesday until July 1, will now run until July 29. The duration of these trains has been extended by around 30 days due to a surge in the passengers amid the scorching heat, especially in the northern states.

Indore Junction-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special To Run Till July 31

As per the latest schedule, the Indore Junction-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special (09309), which runs every Friday and Sunday, will operate till July 31 instead of June 28. In the return journey, the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Okha Special (09310) will run every Saturday and Monday till August 1 instead of June 29.

The Railways also informed that the Bhavnagar-Shakurbasti Special (09257) weekly special will operate every Friday till July 31 instead of June 26. The Shakurbasti-Bhavnagar (09258) weekly special will run every Saturday till August 1 instead of June 27, it added. The passengers have been advised to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
