Mount Abu Weather: The temperature in the northern states dropped significantly on Friday due to fresh snowfall in the hilly regions. While the temperature fell by two to four degrees Celsius in most of the regions, Rajasthan's Mount Abu witnessed severe weather conditions on Saturday. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature of the hill station was recorded at minus 7 degrees Celsius, the lowest reading of the season. The weather department stated that thick layers of ice were formed over the water bodies due to a sudden dip in the temperature. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While the temperature usually increases in Mount Abu after Basant Panchmi, the residents witnessed frozen water bodies on Saturday. While providing details, the weather department stated that a western disturbance has led to the sudden drop in the temperature. It further stated that the northern winds will lead to a further drop in temperature in the next few days. While the maximum temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to fall by three to five degrees Celsius in the next three to four days.

Apart from Mount Abu, the temperature remained below 10 degrees Celsius in several other regions of Rajasthan, including Nagaur, Fatehpur, Pali, Sikar, and the capital city, Jaipur. The weather department further stated that a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect Rajasthan in the upcoming days, leading to light to moderate rainfall in several regions around January 28.
The IMD asserted that the residents of the western region of the state are set to witness a cold wave and fog for the next few days. However, the temperature is likely to gradually increase from the first week of February, providing a major relief to the residents.
