In an important move to improve passenger travel options during summer vacation(s), Indian Railways will run more special trains between Muzaffarpur and Mumbai, as well as Hubballi and Ernakulam. To cater to increased passenger usage, a train has been established. In addition to this, a new special train for the summer is being established; this will run from Samastipur directly to Mumbai.

Samastipur to Mumbai Special Train:

Train No. 01043/01044 Lokmanya Tilak - Samastipur - Lokmanya Tilak Special will run weekly from Lokmanya Tilak and Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Patliputra, DDU, Prayagraj Chheoki, Jabalpur, and Bhusaval. 

Train No. 01043 departs Lokmanya Tilak at 12:15 PM every Tuesday between April 21 and July 14 and will arrive in Samastipur by the following route.

Train No. 01044 will depart Samastipur at 03:00 AM every Thursday between April 23 and July 16, and will arrive at Lokmanya Tilak on the following day at 04:25 PM.

The train will stop at the following stations: 

  • Hajipur
  • Sonpur
  • Patliputra
  • Danapur
  • Buxar
  • DDU

Hubballi to Muzaffarpur Summer Special Train:

The Hubballi to Muzaffarpur Summer Special train No. 07315/07316 will operate one trip every day on April 8 between Hubballi and Muzaffarpur. The return service No. 07316 from Muzaffarpur will also make 3 trips between April 15 and April 29, an additional return on April 11, and 3 more trips from April 18 through May 2. This train will contain 23 coaches, including AC, sleeper, and general class.

Ernakulam to Muzaffarpur to Ernakulam Special Train:

The Ernakulam to Muzaffarpur to Ernakulam train No. 06085/06086 is intended to relieve the passengers making the trip from South India, making it easier to travel to Northern Bihar.

From April 10 to April 24, train number 06085 will make three trips from Ernakulum; from April 13 to April 27, train number 06086 will make three trips from Muzaffarpur. Each of these trains will carry a mix of AC chair car, AC 3-tier sleeper and general class coaches that will depart Ernakulum at 9:30 PM on Fridays.

These trains are being run as special services during the busy summer vacation season to provide smoother travel and create better control of passenger movement.
