In further action in the Surya murder case, the Ghaziabad administration has put a demolition notice at the house of the accused Asad, who was killed in an encounter. The administration has declared the house illegal and given the family of the accused an ultimatum to vacate it within 15 days.

If not vacated, the house could be demolished after 15 days. A public announcement was made to ensure the house was vacated. The administration also provided a Rs 5 lakh cheque to the family of Surya, who was allegedly stabbed to death by Asad and his other accomplices on Bakrid (May 28).

Meanwhile, BJP leader and former Sardhana MLA Sangeet Som visited Surya Chauhan's family on Monday and provided an assistance of Rs 1 lakh to his family.

Som also called for strict action against the arrested and absconding accused. During his visit to the area, Som made a controversial statement, saying that feeding milk to a baby snake would cost a bite, adding that this was what happened in the Navneet Vihar Colony under the Khoda police station area.

Asad killed in encounter

Asad, the prime accused in the case, was absconding, and the police had put a Rs 50,000 bounty on him. On Sunday, he was shot in a crossfire with a police team.

He later succumbed in a hospital during treatment. The flagrant crime made major headlines after the family of the victim opened up on what led to the stabbing incident.

What happened with Surya on Bakrid?

Surya's friend Vicky alleged that on the afternoon of Bakrid, Asad, along with his associates, was standing near a banana warehouse. They confronted Surya, and during an interaction, Asad allegedly asked him, "Have you ever seen a goat being slaughtered?"

When Surya replied in the negative, the accused reportedly started abusing him. Upon his objection, Asad and his associates allegedly attacked him with knives.

The purported video of the incident also surfaced on social media, which triggered massive outrage and a demand for strict action. According to the witness, Surya attempted to escape after pushing Asad away, but the attackers allegedly chased and stabbed him repeatedly.

He added that Surya had run nearly 200 metres with a knife lodged in his belly before he collapsed between Gali No 1 and Gali No 2.

The incident also caused communal tensions in the area, with people from the Hindu community expressing outrage on Saturday when Surya's body was brought back home.
