Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Following days of moderate to heavy rainfall, Tamil Nadu is set to witness light rain as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued a rain alert for today, December 15. Residents experienced dry weather conditions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal yesterday.

According to the weather department, light to moderate rain may occur in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, while the interior districts will remain dry. The maximum temperature is expected to gradually decrease by 2-3 degrees Celsius from today.

Tamil Nadu Weather Forecast

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dry weather accompanied by light fog is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas during the morning hours. Additionally, light to moderate rain is expected today in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal, while the interior districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to remain dry.

Starting December 16, the rain activity is forecast to increase slightly with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning expected in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal, and in parts of interior Tamil Nadu.

This spell is likely to continue, with the possibility of rain in isolated areas of Tamil Nadu until Thursday, December 18.

Chennai Weather

Chennai and its surrounding regions are expected to experience generally cloudy skies with light fog in isolated locations in the early morning hours. The weather department has forecast a chance of light rain in a few parts of the city.

The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature is predicted to be between 20-21 degrees Celsius.
