Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu, including the capital city Chennai, are set to witness rainfall for the next two days. The weather department stated that a weather system over the Bay of Bengal has influenced conditions across the coastal regions, leading to rain. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in these regions, disrupting the daily activities. The weather department also stated that the temperature is also likely to drop by two to four degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including the capital city Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Cuddalore, and Villupuram, are likely to witness heavy rain on Sunday. Along with the rainfall, these regions are also likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning. The IMD stated that several parts of Puducherry are also likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall till Tuesday. In its advisory, it clarified that the rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters.
The capital city Chennai is likely to witness rain, along with strong surface wind and thunderstorms, for the next two days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 19 degrees Celsius. The residents are set to witness a drop in temperature and fog in the early hours of the day.
The weather department has advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies for the next few days. It also directed the authorities to make all the necessary arrangements to avoid any inconveniences.
