Jagran: In the latest development in the TCS sexual harassment and conversion case, the Special Investigation Team has named former All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen MP Imtiaz Jalil. The team has also interrogated AIMIM corporator Matin Patel on whether she assisted in providing shelter to prime accused Nida Khan while she was on the run.

Jagran.com reported that several names of political leaders have emerged while questioning Patel. Former MP Imtiaz Jalil's name has come up in the case. Although no official statement has been issued by the SIT or police, it has been speculated that he may be summoned for interrogation.

What Did The Investigation Reveal?

The investigation team maintain that summoning someone for interrogation does not amount to his/ her involvement in the case.

The AIMIM corporator, Patel, was questioned for around nine hours on May 25. He was summoned again on June 1. Patel repeatedly referred to Jaleel, a former AIMIM MP, when he was questioned about the whereabouts of Nida Khan, an accused in the TCS case.

"You will have to ask Imtiaz Jaleel Saheb," Matin Patel said repeatedly when questioned by the Crime Branch office.

Nida Khan was arrested in central Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on May 7, with police claiming that Matin Patel provided her shelter.

The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation demolished alleged illegal constructions at the residence and other properties of corporator Matin Patel.

The demolition action triggered a war of words between Maharashtra minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat and AIMIM leader Jaleel, NDTV reported.

The Nida Khan case is already considered sensitive. Allegations of sexual assault and forced religious conversion have surfaced, and questions have been raised about the roles of several individuals.
