An upheaval seems inevitable in the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp after only three of its nine Lok Sabha MPs attended a meeting of the parliamentary board in Delhi on Thursday morning. The missing six MPs were issued a notice following the absence. Earlier, Marathi Jagran reported that the UBT leadership is planning to disqualify the rebel MPs.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has nine MPs in the Lok Sabha and at least six will have to switch sides together to escape disqualification under the anti-defection law.

These six MPs were missing from Udhav Sena meeting:

-Sanjay Jadhav: MP from Parbhani in the Marathwada region.

-Sanjay Deshmukh: MP from Yavatmal-Washim in Vidarbha

-Sanjay Dina Patil: MP from Mumbai North East

-Nagesh Patil Ashtikar: MP from Hingoli in Marathwada

-Omraje Nimbalkar: MP from Dharashiv

-Bhausaheb Wakchaure: MP from Shirdi

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi claimed on Thursday that the six MPs have actually switched sides and joined the Shinde faction.

"Operation Tiger has taken place in Maharashtra. Today, six MPs expressed their trust in Eknath Shinde and joined the Shiv Sena... It is a good thing that they have joined us. I welcome them,” Raghuvanshi said, as quoted by ANI.

Sanjay Raut Abuses Rebel MPs

Sanjay Raut and other Shiv Sena UBT MPs have been persistently denying reports of a rift. On Wednesday, he held a press conference, alongside Sawant and Anil Desai, where he hurled abuses at the rebel MPs.

The rebel faction is reported to have met the Lok Sabha Speaker in Rajasthan by flying in a chartered plane. They are reported to have submitted a letter to the Speaker regarding their decision to break away.

The Uddhav Sena had got a sigh of relief on Wednesday when MP Rajabhau Waje, who was considered to be a part of the rebel group of 7 MPs initially, publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to the party leader.

According to the sources cited by PTI, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived in Delhi late on Tuesday and returned to Mumbai on Wednesday. He was the principal architect of the split in the undivided Shiv Sena in 2022 that brought down the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
