Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is simplifying the registration process to ensure more labourers can directly benefit from the government schemes.

Under the revised system, workers can now register by providing their Aadhaar card and proof of 90 days of work. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure more labourers can directly benefit from various government schemes, including pension, medical treatment, children's education, skill development, and marriage.

UP Govt Simplifies Registration Process For Construction Workers

According to a report by Jagran.com, Uttar Pradesh has registered a total of 17.136 million construction workers and 466,415 construction sites so far. However, a significant number of workers remain unregistered due to a lack of awareness, which prevents them from taking advantage of government schemes.

To bridge this gap, the department has simplified the registration process through the Labour Management Information System. In addition to this, authorities are actively conducting registration drives through special camps at construction sites.

Eligibility And Documents Required

Under the revised system, any construction worker aged 18 to 60 who has completed at least 90 days of work in the past year is eligible to register and access government schemes. Workers can easily register using their Aadhaar Card.

Once successfully registered, construction workers can access a range of social security and welfare schemes, including Kanya Vivah Yojana, the Atal Awasiya Vidyalaya Yojana, the Jan Arogya Yojana, the Mahatma Gandhi Pension Yojana, the Maternity and Child Welfare Scheme, the Skill Development and Technical Upgradation Scheme, the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chetna Yojana, and the Sant Ravidas Education Promotion Scheme.
