A video has gone viral showing a dramatic rescue at a railway station in Karnataka, where a station master’s quick reflexes saved a passenger from a potentially fatal fall near a moving train.

The incident took place at Pandavapura railway station, where South Western Railway shared CCTV footage on X (formerly twitter), highlighting the bravery of the station master, Abhijit Singh who was on duty.

According to railway officials, the incident occurred on December 13, 2025, when a passenger attempted to board Train No. 16219 while it was already in motion, a dangerous and prohibited action. CCTV footage shows the station master monitoring the platform closely as the train departed.

In the 17-second clip, the passenger is seen trying to board the moving train, but within seconds, he loses his balance while attempting to climb on and slips dangerously close to the wheels, creating a life-threatening situation. Sensing the danger, the station master immediately rushed to his aid.

He quickly grabbed the passenger and pulled him back to safety, narrowly preventing what could have resulted in serious injury or even death, a courageous act.

The video also shows other passengers rushing to assist the shaken man and ensure he was moved safely away from the train.

Southern Railway authorities have praised the station master’s presence of mind, alertness, and commitment to duty, calling the rescue a textbook example of vigilance and timely intervention. The incident has drawn widespread praise online, with many users applauding the official’s bravery and calling for stricter enforcement of railway safety rules.

Officials once again reminded passengers not to attempt boarding or alighting from moving trains, emphasising the severe risks involved. The video continues to gain attention across social media.
