Jagran Correspondent, Bokaro: In a major convenience for the candidates appearing for the West Bengal Civil Services Examination (WBCS Exam 2026), the South Eastern Railway has decided to run a pair of special trains between Ranchi and Howrah. As per the reports, the special trains will operate on June 14 and will provide relief to thousands of candidates from Kolkata and other districts of Bengal. The authority has advised the students to stay updated and plan their days accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

As per the officials, the decision of operating extra trains was taken to manage the significant surge in passengers due to the examination. The officials stated that the 08616 Ranchi-Howrah Special train will depart from Ranchi at 9.30 pm on Saturday and arrive in Howrah at 6.30 am the next day. They further stated that on the return journey, the 08615 Howrah-Ranchi Special will depart from Howrah at 8.45 pm on June 14 and arrive in Ranchi at 5.15 am the next day.

While providing details, the authority stated that the train will stop at several stations under the jurisdiction of South Eastern Railway, including Muri, Jhalda, Bokaro Steel City, Bhojudih, Adra, Bishnupur, Midnapore, and Kharagpur. The railways have advised the aspirants to avail themselves of the special service and maximise the use of public transportation to avoid any inconveniences.

Earlier on Saturday, train operations on the Howrah-Delhi main railway line were severely disrupted for several hours after the engines of two separate trains on the up line between Chittaranjan and Rupnarayanpur failed. As per the reports, thousands of passengers dealt with hardship in the scorching heat. The administration tried to send the train by attaching another engine, but that engine also could not work due to technical fault.

However, the authority later informed that the services on the route have been restored, urging the passengers to follow the schedule.
