As relentless rainfall continues to lash parts of India, the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain in 22 states in India. The IMD has issued a warning for several districts in UP. Parts of Delhi-NCR are expected to receive heavy showers on Monday. Landslide warnings have been issued for hilly states. Fishermen have been advised to move away from the sea and move to safer locations. Lightning is possible in eastern states.

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall can occur in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya.

Weather in Delhi

Delhi and adjoining NCR areas, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurugram, are expected to experience heavy rain and thunderstorms on Monday. Gusty winds reaching up to 50 kmph could also lash some parts. Maximum temperature is expected to hover between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius.

Weather in UP

Several districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness heavy rain and thunderstorms. The affected areas include Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Bijnor, Badaun, Pilibhit, Sitapur, Kanpur, Bahraich, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Etawah, Hamirpur, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Deoria and Gorakhpur, among others.

Uttarakhand To Witness Heavy Downpours

The IMD has forecasted heavy downpours in isolated areas with active thunderstorms and lightning.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in parts of Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Roorkee, Haldwani, Nainital, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Almora, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Srinagar, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Tehri Garhwal and Karnaprayag.

People residing in hilly areas should stay cautious, as hilly regions are prone to landslides and soil erosion.

Rain to lash in parts of Himachal Pradesh, J&K

The weather department has issued a light to moderate rain warning, with isolated heavy rains possible in Jammu Division, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. Thunderstorms and gusts up to 60 kmph in the higher reaches are also expected in several parts on Monday.

Weather In Bihar and Jharkhand

Both states have active monsoon conditions, so widespread light to moderate rain and isolated heavy downpours are likely in several areas. Lightning and thunderstorms are expected across central and northern districts.

Bengal and Punjab witness rain, thunderstorms

West Bengal is likely to receive torrential rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 60 kmph in areas including Kolkata, Howrah, Birbhum, Darjeeling, Murshidabad, Nadia, Durgapur, Kalimpong, Purulia and Malda.

Punjab could also see rain and storms across Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Mansa and Malerkotla, with gusty winds reaching up to 55 kmph

Odisha weather

The IMD said that scattered rainfall is likely to lash in parts of the state. The state is already dealing with flood-like situations in several areas, and more rain could swell rivers, triggering floods and waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Weather in Southern States

The IMD has forecasted a subdued monsoon activity overall. Isolated light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in parts of Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Strong surface winds (30–40 kmph) are expected to lash Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema tomorrow.
