One of the most preferred healthy drinks consumed by people in rural Tamil Nadu, Kambu Koozh is made with the help of pearl millet, or bajra and buttermilk. This treat is often served in the summer to keep the body cool and revitalised. It is typically kept in big mud pots.

The Kambu Koozh sellers stated that they are happy serving this drink at Rs 5 and have no concerns about it. According to a report by News18, one of the vendors, Kumar said that he buys rye and sorghum from the stores, grinds them at home, and makes a pulp out of it. Then, according to Kumar, he places it in the earthen pots and sells it to customers. He also sells buttermilk.
Then, speaking about the nutritional advantages of the Kambu Koozh drink, Kumar mentioned that in addition to lowering body temperature, it also guards against conditions related to the intestines. He serves his customers snacks in addition to the buttermilk and Kambu Koozh drink.
