Following the model of Palamu Engineering College, the Jharkhand state government has decided to run the Bokaro and Godda engineering colleges itself. Earlier attempts to operate these colleges under a public-private partnership (PPP) model failed, as no private institutions showed interest despite two rounds of tendering.

With AICTE recognition now secured, admissions at both colleges have been conducted for the first time through the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). The state government has also created academic and non-academic posts for both institutions, with permanent appointments planned soon.

At Bokaro Engineering College, appointments will be made for 85 academic and 125 non-academic posts, totalling 210 positions. At Godda Engineering College, 170 academic and 250 non-academic posts will be filled, totalling 420 positions. Academic posts include roles such as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Director, and Workshop Superintendent.

The operation of these colleges is expected to incur an annual salary expenditure of Rs 41.88 crore. Computer proficiency has been made a mandatory qualification for all academic and non-academic appointments.

The Administrative Posts Committee and the State Council of Ministers have approved the creation of these posts, noting that both colleges will operate as self-reliant institutions, bearing the cost of salaries, establishment, and other expenses in the future.
