McCluskieganj, located about 65 kilometres from the capital of Jharkhand, is gaining national attention due to the severe cold. While the minimum temperature was recorded at 2 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 3 degrees Celsius in Mussoorie, and 1 degree Celsius in Srinagar, the mercury in McCluskieganj has dropped to two degrees below zero, reaching minus 2 degrees Celsius.
Cold Wave Warnings Issued For Multiple Districts
A cold wave is affecting the capital along with Kanke, Khunti, Daltonganj, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, and Simdega. In Kanke, adjacent to the capital, the minimum temperature was recorded at 3.0 degrees Celsius on Friday. In the morning, a white sheet of frost was visible covering fields and open grounds. In Khunti district, the minimum temperature has fallen to 1.5 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. Consequently, the weather department has issued a cold wave warning for Daltonganj, Chaibasa, Simdega, Khunti, and Bokaro.

Forecast: January 12 and 13 To Be The Coldest
The weather department has clearly indicated that the cold will intensify over the next three to four days, with the 12th and 13th of January likely to be the coldest days of the year. According to weather experts, the cold conditions may persist for a few more days.
Daily Life Disrupted And Schools Impacted
The biting cold has completely disrupted daily life. Streets are deserted from the morning, forcing people to stay indoors even during the day. Due to the cold, student attendance at schools has fallen, while the usual bustle in the markets has also diminished.

According to weather experts, this spell of cold weather may continue for a few more days. They have advised the elderly and children to take special precautions. People are taking measures to protect themselves from the cold, relying on warm clothing, bonfires, and heating devices.
