In a tragic accident in Maulana Azad Colony, within the Sadar police station area, two young children fell into a deep drain on Tuesday. The incident occurred while they were playing outside their home when they lost their balance and fell in. Upon receiving news of the incident, a large crowd of local people gathered at the scene and the police were immediately informed.
Mother’s Brave Rescue Attempt
The current in the drain was very strong, causing both children to be swept away rapidly. Seeing her children drowning, their mother showed great courage and jumped into the surging drain without delay. The mother used all her strength to grab one child's hand firmly and pull them out to safety. However, due to the speed of the water, the second child slipped from her grasp and was swept further along the drain.

Search Operation and Tragic Outcome
It was reported that the drain eventually flows into the Swarnarekha river in Namkum. With the help of local people and the police, the second child was pulled from the drain and immediately taken to Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them dead. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the area following the accident.
