Happy Kati Bihu 2023: Today, October 18, people are celebrating this special festival full of joy and happiness. India's Assamese people celebrate Kati Bihu, a colorful and important event. It commemorates the planting of the winter crops, particularly paddy, and is celebrated with tremendous intensity and tradition. To keep pests and birds away from newly planted seeds, people light oil lamps and carry out numerous rituals during this festival.
A time for prayers and offerings to the gods for a plentiful harvest is also observed during Kati Bihu. Traditional Assamese folk songs, dances, and delectable meals created from recently gathered crops are all featured throughout the festival. At this time of the year, all the neighborhoods come together to celebrate their agricultural heritage and ask for blessings for a successful season. It's a beautiful occasion.
