JE Lifestyle Desk: Swami Vivekananda was an Indian monk, philosopher, author and religious leader. He was the chief disciple of the Indian mystic Ramakrishna. He was born on January 12, 1863, in an aristocratic Bengali family in Calcutta. He is recognised as one of the greatest spiritual leaders who had a vast knowledge of science and religion. He played an instrumental role in bringing yoga and Vedanta philosophies to the country. 

He learned from Ramakrishna that God is present in all living beings and around us.
