Mumbai Local Train Update: Days after the completion of the operational work between Borivali and Kandivali, the Western Railways of the Mumbai suburban railways is set to run an additional 12 non-AC coaches on this route, thereby adding four extra non-AC train services on this route. These suburban trains are expected to benefit passengers and ease congestion on this route.
“After the commissioning of the 6th line, all Bandra Terminus-bound long-distance trains have been shifted to the 5th and 6th line between Borivali and Bandra Terminus, resulting in improved operational efficiency,” according to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railways, Vineet Abhishek.

Mumbai Suburban Railways Update: 4 New Services
According to the Western Railway (WR) zone, these four non-AC train services will be introduced from Sunday, February 1.
With the introduction of these additional services, the total number of suburban services on Western Railway’s Mumbai suburban section will increase from 1,406 to 1,410.
Out of the four train services, 2 will be in the UP direction while 2 will be in the Down direction.
The UP services will run from Bhayandar to Bandra, departing at 11:39 pm and from Bhayandar to Churchgate at 12:14 pm.
In the DOWN direction, the two additional services will be from Bandra to Bhayandar, departing from Bandra at 04:30 am and 1:21 pm respectively.
Mumbai Local Train Update: 14 New AC Services On CSMT-Panvel Harbour Line
In a separate development The Central Railway (CR) has announced the launch of 14 new air-conditioned local train services on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Panvel Harbour line. The move aims to improve travel comfort for daily commuters and meet the growing demand for AC services on the Harbour corridor.
The new AC locals were introduced on January 26, 2026, replacing the existing non-AC local train services on this route.
