Mumbai Metro Update: In a move to ensure convenient access to essential menstrual hygiene products, Mumbai Metro One has partnered with Sirona, an Indian femtech and women’s wellness brand, to install multi-product menstrual hygiene vending machines at all stations along Blue Line 1.
The initiative, announced on January 8, aims to provide women commuters with discreet and convenient access to several menstrual hygiene products, making daily travel along the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor more comfortable and hassle-free, Mid Day reported.

Mumbai Metro One Installs Menstrual Hygiene Vending Machines: Check Details
- Location: The menstrual hygiene vending machines have been strategically installed outside women’s washrooms at all 12 stations of the Mumbai Metro’s Blue Line, ensuring discreet and convenient access for female commuters.
- Cost: The menstrual hygiene vending machines offer a range of affordable products, with packs of two sanitary pads starting at just Rs 10, making them accessible for all commuters.

Mumbai Metro One, operating the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar corridor, has partnered with Sirona to introduce multi-product menstrual hygiene vending machines across its stations.
Speaking to Times Now, Shyamantak Choudhury, CEO of Mumbai Metro One, said, "Women form a significant share of our ridership, making it essential to integrate their needs into the transit experience. These vending machines ensure easy, discreet access to preferred hygiene products and reinforce our commitment to world-class metro infrastructure."
The machines will not only improve access to essential hygiene products but also normalise conversations around menstrual health. Through this initiative, Mumbai Metro One is promoting a gender-sensitive approach to public transport, fostering a more inclusive environment for all commuters.
